The Race to Erase Student Debt is a 5k foot race in Carrboro, North Carolina that eliminates student debt while bringing people together with inspiration, activity, and community.
So many young people in the triangle (and the
country in general) have recently graduated from
college into a very harsh job market. We want to
show them that hope is alive and we can all make a
hopeful, imaginative, and bright future together.
The target audience for this race is primarily college graduates in their 20s and 30s who have remaining student loan debt. This race’s reach also extends to parents of college graduates, local runners, and local philanthropic characters who are open to new ideas.
This race is inclusive, casual and hopeful. While we’ll be working hard to make sure we raise as much as we can to lend a helping hand to these graduates, the runners themselves will feel welcome and non-competitive in the race and inspired in the end to be brave to try new ideas and think outside of the box to solve their problems.
